Scale Helicopters
Our speciality — detailed scale rotorcraft replicas, including Chinook, Apache, Lynx and civilian types.
Our Story
Founded in 1987 on the vast open skies of the Pevensey Levels in East Sussex, Levels 87 has grown from a small gathering of enthusiasts into one of the friendliest model flying clubs in the South East.
Levels 87 Model Flying Club takes its name from the year of its founding and the stunning Pevensey Levels — a unique landscape of open wetland and sky that makes for an outstanding flying environment.
We are a BMFA (British Model Flying Association) affiliated club, which means all flying at our site is conducted in line with the highest national safety standards. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned professional with a large-scale helicopter, you'll find a warm welcome and a wealth of knowledge among our members.
The club is particularly well known for our Scale Helicopter Days — events that celebrate the beauty of scale rotary-wing models, drawing enthusiasts from across the South East and beyond.
We pride ourselves on being a club that puts people first. New members are always paired with experienced pilots, and safety briefings are provided for all visitors.
Our BMFA affiliation provides members with public liability insurance, access to the BMFA Article 16 Authorisation framework, and coverage under the BMFA's nationally recognised safety standards. This includes the ability to fly FPV with an observer and to operate models above 400ft in certain circumstances.
